Description

“Dene,” the second half of Hildene, the name that presidential son Robert Lincoln gave to his Manchester estate in 1905 means “Valley with Stream.”  On Tuesday, July 14, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, participants will take an ecotour of Hildene’s approximately 200 acres of valley with stream consisting of meadow, forest, wetland, spectacular vistas and the Battenkill. 
 
Registration is required.  Enrollment is limited to 20 participant:. Attendees will park at the Hildene Welcome Center and be transported to and from the meadow by shuttle, leaving promptly at 2:00 pm and returning at 5:00.  Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and to bring a water bottle.
