Your area Lions Clubs have, as one of their missions, serving the sight and hearing needs of the communities they serve. Recently, the Lions have been doing free vision screen of children from 6 months old to 20 years old. The new Vision Screener/Cameras, produced here in Vermont, allows the Lions to screen the child’s vision for seven possible conditions: near-sightedness, far-sightedness, problems focusing, eye alignment, unequal pupils, unequal pupil power and gaze misalignment.
This program has been made possible through Vermont Lions Charities’ purchase of three of these Cameras. The goal of the upcoming, A Walk for Sight, is to raise funds to carry on this program and potentially purchase additional equipment.
Come walk, sponsor a walker, or cheer on a walker. Sponsorship forms are available on the Vermont Lions Charities Facebook page or by email to vt.lions.charities@aol.com or the registration table the day of the event.
In 1925 Helen Keller asked Lions to become Knights of the Blind. Help us meet our commitment to Helen Keller – come walk on Saturday, May 9th.
