The very popular "Music at the Museum" series continues at the Bennington Museum! The four-part series covers a range of music as diverse as the museum's collection. This concert, the third in the series, presents music by Beethoven. Sponsored by Alison Nowak and Robert Cane, all concerts are free. "We anticipate that this will be a recurring series, so you can look forward to enjoying high quality music for years to come," stated Deana Mallory, Director of Public Programs. "Our first two concerts were so well attended, we were left with standing room only. However, we have addressed that issue and welcome you to join us for music by Beethoven on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m."
Pianists Yoshiko Sato and Christopher Lewis are undertaking an ambitious plan to perform all thirty-two of Beethoven's sonatas for piano over the course of two years in approximately eight concerts. They hope to perform one each term at Bennington College where they both teach, and the others at venues throughout the community. Bennington Museum is honored to be the first of their community venues. This concert presents three of the Sonatas, Op. 10 No. 2 in F major, Op. 54 in F major and Op. 53 in C major, known as the "Waldstein."
