DESCRIPTION:Along with the traditional reading of the Declaration of Independence by local actor Willy Jones at the Bennington Battle Monument at 1:00 PM on Saturday July 4th there will be the chance to add your signature to the famous document. \n\n \n\nStarting at 10:00 AM children of all ages can enjoy colonial games with Phyllis Chapman of Vintage Visitors.  There will also be the opportunity to put your 'John Hancock' on a special version of the original document. Calligraphy or not\, pens and ink will be provided.   Willy has been reading and discussing the events that led to our National Holiday for over 20 years.  Visitors are welcome to join in the discussion and even sing a patriotic song.  Seating is provided but you are welcome to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the view from the lawn around the Monument.
